PART-TIME BUS DRIVER

GENERAL FUNCTION

The part-time bus driver shall report to and be responsible directly to the Building and Equipment Supervisor for Pinewood, Inc. The person shall possess a valid and current Minnesota driver's license and a clear driving record.

Duties

The part-time bus driver shall:

  1. Check the message board for messages before each run and maintain established routes and schedules.
  2. Record on forms in the vehicle: mileage, gas, oil, repairs, etc. as required.
  3. Check the condition of the vehicle on a daily basis.
  4. Report any necessary repairs immediately to the supervisor.
  5. Record on the Bus Run Attendance form after each run and turn it in immediately at the front office.
  6. Observe all laws and regulations while driving agency vehicles.
  7. Adhere to all agency policies and procedures as set by the Pinewood, Inc. Board of Directors.
  8. Report any consumer incidents (behaviors, accidents, etc.) to the Program Director or Program Coordinator immediately upon return from each route. Fill out appropriate forms.
  9. Be responsible for assisting consumers requiring assistance, from the vehicle to the building and from the building to the vehicle. NEVER allow consumers to assist other consumers.
  10. Except in an emergency, the Driver is not to leave the vehicle when consumers are on board. If the Driver is forced to leave the vehicle for any reason, the ignition must be turned off and the keys removed.

Due to possible occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, this position may be at risk for Hepatitis B and HIV infection.
