Pinewood provides many opportunities for persons to go out into the community and work for local businesses. We guarantee worry-free training, dependability and satisfaction. Our job coaches are working supervisors who provide training and ongoing supervision for persons working through Pinewood. We have a very dependable and stable workforce that does the job correctly and on time. We currently have successful community placements in the following areas: dishwashing, housekeeping, janitorial duties, shredding, recycling, produce packing, light clerical, labeling, cleaning services, and lawn mowing.

Employment Program Services – community placements require that the person’s individual interests, skills and abilities are considered when matching job openings and people. Work program design will be based on assessment, performance data, and interviews with the consumer, past work history performance, and interests. It is also important to ensure that health, safety, personal dignity, and positive growth are maintained.

Agency-based Employment – Pinewood has agency-based, in-house work opportunities in the areas of light assembly, packing, sealing, document shredding, labeling – from relatively simple job tasks to those that are more complex.

Pre-vocational/Recreation/Leisure – includes assisting people in acquiring leisure skills. Music, art, and physical activity are just a few ways to meet a person’s emotional/physical health needs.

Pinewood also offers training in skill areas necessary to obtain and maintain employment. Dressing appropriately for work, communication skills, social behavior skills, and grooming skills are necessary pre-vocational skills.
